The Founding Fathers of Uckfield Rugby Club recently presented the 4th Uckfield Scout Band with a cheque for £500. The club have helped the band out before by allowing them to use their Hempstead Fields site to practice their displays on but this is the first time that financial support has been given.
The band compete in national competitions and have been very succesful to date. The donation will allow the band to compete again at national events in the summer. A group of the founding fathers attended the scout hut to here the ban practising for their forthcoming summer season where there display will be based on music from the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The club wish the band all the best in 2008.
